WHAT CLOSING THE LOOP ISN’T…

It’s not your typical education book. You know the ones I’m talking about…the thick ones on your bookshelf that you want to read, but never do. It’s not a book to teach you to organize a family literacy night. There are plenty of books that do that. It’s not a book with details about research. Let’s be honest, who really wants to read those?!

WHAT CLOSING THE LOOP IS...

It’s short, simple, practical, and easy to read. It’s full of rich examples, helpful tips, and useful checklists that you can use immediately to improve your school-home communication practices with families.  It’s designed to help you quickly become a communications expert so you can engage families and provide them with the skills and knowledge they need to become true partners in education.

Closing the Loop will help give you the skills you need to make the most of each and every one of your school-home communications.

Praise for Closing the Loop…

In Closing the Loop, A Powerful and Practical Guide to School Home Communication, communications expert Patricia Weinzapfel, a trusted and authoritative voice in the field of communication, shares a proven pathway to inspire effective communication with every family and provides multiple opportunities to reflect, examine and improve present practice. I have not seen a better or more compelling resource for educators looking to elevate communication and ultimately the engagement of every family.

Some sections taught me a great deal, others reinforced what I have learned through practice and still more wrote down important communication principles that I have explained to aspiring school leaders in discrete comments for years. Now I can simply refer them to your book!

I think this is a wonderful book, a great tool for educators and could revolutionize the whole educator-family relationships.

I sometimes feel like as a lawyer people expect me to use big words and sound all formal. But mostly, my audience is non-lawyers and I forget to reset my style and tone. Thanks for the reminder!

Welcome to Martricia School

Martricia School operates under the paradigm that every child is capable, and every child is a leader. The school’s vision, excellence in developing the whole child, is exemplified in the many collaborations with PTA and the community to bring experiences to teachers and students that enrich the opportunities available. The school’s mission, to collaborate to create leaders, empower learners, and ensure growth, guides our decisions and our direction. Incorporating this mission in all decisions helps develop the essential life skills and characteristics students need in order to thrive in the 21st century. This approach sets the foundation for children with personal leadership and equips students with the self-confidence and skills needed to thrive in school and beyond. Additionally, the school differentiates instruction to meet the needs of all learners. Small group reading instruction is implemented school wide, and the math workshop model is offered in some grades. Students from Marticia will attend Hamilton Heights Middle School for grades six through eight, then move on to Jefferson High School.

After!

Welcome to our Marticia Family!

Thank you for enrolling your child in Martricia School! We are excited to work with you to make sure your child succeeds!

Our goal at Martricia is to nurture and challenge each of our students so they become lifelong learners and strong, confident leaders. At Martricia, we believe that education is a partnership and we know you are an “expert” when it comes to your child. We hope you will share your ideas and expertise with us. We want to hear from you. And, we will reach out often to let you know how your child is doing.

We’d love for you to take part in school events and activities at Martricia like Family Reading Night and PTA. We also encourage you to take advantage of resources at the school. We can work with you to not only meet your child’s needs, but your family’s needs.

Again, thank you for choosing Martricia. We look forward to standing alongside you and sharing in your child’s success in the years ahead.

Sincerely,

Anne White
